Participate with the Lake Superior Rose Society in their annual event of ‘Tipping The Tender Roses’ at Leif Erikson Rose Garden (LERG), located at 1300 London Road, Duluth, MN. The event will be held Saturday, October 24th from 9 am to noon. The public is welcome to help/learn, and you can always come earlier that morning as some of the City staff start earlier around 7 am. Stay later or as long as you’re able to help. Bring a friend, a garden fork, gloves and wear layers along with your LSRS logo apparel – vest, shirt, and/or cap if you’re an LSRS member.

It’s time put the roses to bed for their winter nap!
Using the traditional Minnesota Tip Method, we’ll gently lift and tip the bushes to guide them down to be buried under a layer of dirt for Winter. If you don’t know or haven’t done this before, we have seasoned members who will show you how to tip the roses and why we do this.

It’s a hands-on tradition that ensures our most delicate roses thrive in the North. Grab your gloves and help us put the Rose Garden to sleep!
